๐ŸŽนMusic and the Brain๐ŸŽถ

Rayburn is the first and only school in the district to have Music and the Brain. This project is designed to teach public school students to read and play music through classroom keyboard instruction. When children receive sequential music instruction, it improves their proficiency in language, fine motor skills, critical thinking, cognition and all subject areas. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽผ

Rayburn's Spotlight Message

Ms. Dillard has been an advocate for the arts in elementary education, whether in art, drama, dance, or music. Most recently she invested STEAM budget moneys in a music keyboard lab and curriculum resources for our music department. She went above and beyond to get the resources and the training required for classroom implementation of Music and the Brain curriculum.  Kindergarten through fifth graders are learning songs that teach singing and rhythm, reading notation, and playing music on the keyboard! There is a renewed enthusiasm and interest for music class by parents and students alike. THANK YOU MS. DILLARD!!
